We ship the router to an address in the United States, and you take it with you. It is currently set up for Japan: order it before you travel, use it there, and post it back to us in the prepaid envelope we include.

Who this is for

Travelling to Japan with a U.S. phone. U.S. lines such as T-Mobile can be slow or hard to connect with in Japan, depending on your plan and where you are. A pocket WiFi solves it the same way: keep your phone, connect it to the router, and use your usual apps.

Using an eSIM-capable phone and happy to set one up? Our eSIM plans may suit you better — nothing to carry, nothing to return. A pocket WiFi is the choice when several devices need to be online, or when you would rather not touch your phone's settings at all.

How it works

• Delivery: USPS Priority Mail to any U.S. address, flat $13.50. We do not ship outside the United States.
• Start date: choose a date at least 5 days after your order, so the router reaches you in time.
• Where it works: we are starting with Japan and adding countries as we go. If your destination is not on the list yet, please get in touch.
• Coming home: put the router and charger back in the box, attach the prepaid tracked label we include, and drop it at any USPS location. Postage is on us.

The router and charger are rental items, so we ask that both come back to us after your trip. Any questions before or during your rental? Use our contact form, or simply reply to your order email — we answer in Japanese and English.
